As an entry level engineer at HEI, you will begin your career working with expert engineers who will provide mentorship and guidance through a variety of projects. These projects will serve as a solid foundation for your career as a civil engineer. Some of those projects include traffic planning, roadway and railway design, geometric layout, drainage analysis, erosion control, and/or environmental clearance coordination. The projects you work on may also be federal, state, county and municipal roadways.  

Job Description

• Perform redlines on project drawings, pull technical reports and complete quantity calculations.
• Assist Project Manager with project cost estimates.
• Collaborate and communicate effectively with project teams such as CAD designers, engineers, subcontractors to complete projects safely, on time, and with high quality.
• Assist in client contact and communications.
• May include onsite construction observation duties during the construction phase of projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering or related Engineering degree.
• Experience in the design and construction of state DOT and county highway projects preferred.
• Experience operating MicroStation, Geopak, and/or AutoCAD preferred.
• Working knowledge of applicable federal, state, and local codes.
• Valid driver’s license with a good driving record.
