Position Overview:
The Project Operations Manager will work with the program office as a member of the Service Operations team and serve as the lead over all O&M activities and contribute to the overall technical solution. Will provide direct oversight of the Operations support teams and monitor and assist in day-to-day service operations.
Responsibilities:
- Ensure efficient and effective communication and collaboration between the programs operations, technical entities, application vendors, engineering and other teams in support of the program’s mission
- Ensure appropriate channels of communication are established during maintenance activities and unplanned outages
- Ensure production applications are appropriately monitored and alerts properly configured to notify support personnel of system issues which breech defined benchmarks
- Assist in systems operations planning and strategy and ensure the application/system configuration is properly written, submitted and documented
- Help to plan and execute infrastructure changes impacting the system while ensuring system capacity and performance are properly monitored
- Ensure new functionality or charnes to the system meet stakeholder and user expectation
- Facilitate daily operational stand-up calls to provide metrics on all aspects of the program’s operation; This will include outages, system alerts, daily system checks, daily system backups, ticket metrics, one-net requests, system operational statuses, operational testing activities, service operations project statuses, maintenance calendar and other miscellaneous action items.
Requirements:
- 5 years’ experience providing technical management/management leadership on major tasks or technology assignments involving IT Operations
- Demonstrate IT operations management experience
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Ability to interact and be involved with the client negotiations and interfacing with senior management
- Proven knowledge of Change and Configuration Management best practices
- Experience leading and collaborating with technical teams of diverse IT related skill sets
- Demonstrated knowledge of infrastructure architecture
- Extensive knowledge of internet protocols, routing, server configuration and management
