About the role

This is a hands-on position with the successful applicant ready and able to assist with time-sensitive project issues and customer escalations.  The role will look for efficiencies to improve quality and opportunities to advance the team capability through automation and education.  This role requires excellent organizational skills and an ability to manage many concurrent projects.

The applicant will spend most of their time managing the day-to-day operations of the team, responding to the needs of the customer base on an as-needed basis.  The tasks may concern routine database maintenance, rapid response to unexpected outages or availability issues, or identifying and managing projects to continuously improve the quality of service provided to our users.

Technical skills required:

  • Oracle Database
  • Oracle Grid Infrastructure, ASM & RAC
  • Oracle Goldengate
  • Dataguard and Maximum Availability Architecture best practices
  • Oracle Cloud and Exadata Cloud Service (ExaCS) Oracle Autonomous Database (ADB)
  • Oracle Data Management (Partitioning, Compression)

Education, certifications, or experience (preferred/required):

  • 6+ years of progressive leadership of Oracle Database administration teams
  • 8+ years of experience as Oracle DBA
  • Bachelor’s degree/master’s degree (Information Technology/Computer Science/Computer Software/Computer System Engineering)
  • Managing production databases running on LINUX flavors
  • Experience with production operations and best practices for change management and escalation procedures) 
  • Understand the end-to-end configuration, technical dependencies, and overall behavioral characteristics of Oracle database systems 

Career Level - M2

Manages a team maintaining and/or implementing software project(s) and/or internal systems. Defines, documents and manages scope, expectations, implementation approach, deliverables and acceptance testing criteria.

US: Hiring Range: from $80,500 to $199,500 per annum. May be eligible for bonus and equity.

Oracle maintains broad salary ranges for its roles in order to account for variations in knowledge, skills, experience, market conditions and locations, as well as reflect Oracle’s differing products, industries and lines of business.
Candidates are typically placed into the range based on the preceding factors as well as internal peer equity.

8. Paid time off: Flexible Vacation is provided to all eligible employees assigned to a salaried (non-overtime eligible) position. For employees working at least 35 hours per week, the vacation accrual rate is 13 days annually for the first three years of employment and 18 days annually for subsequent years of employment. Vacation accrual is prorated for employees working between 20 and 34 hours per week. Employees working fewer than 20 hours per week are not eligible for vacation.
