We are seeking a strategic and results-driven Manager to lead our Transition Advisor Disability Specialist (TADS) team within the Disability Claims organization. This leadership role is responsible for overseeing a team of specialists who triage and co-manage disability claims to optimize operational efficiency, reduce unnecessary transitions from Short-Term Disability (STD) to Long-Term Disability (LTD), and improve return-to-work (RTW) outcomes. Responsibilities include program development including production and success metrics, leading team-focused strategic initiative, collaboration with vendors and business partners as well as employee training and project management.

The current employee work arrangement for this position is fully virtual. While this position does not require your on-site presence on a regular basis, depending on business preferences, there may be occasions where you are required to be on-site at a Prudential office.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Demonstrates strong coaching and support for team development, ensures accountability, and creates a collaborative environment
  • Oversee TADS daily operations, ensuring timely actioning of claims to reduce avoidable transitions to LTD and improve claimant RTW opportunities.
  • Design and execute strategies to increase early intervention and align claims with the appropriate clinical, vocational, or case management resources.
  • Monitor team performance metrics, including identifying claim trends and deploying interventions to drive efficiency and improve claimant outcomes.
  • Effectively uses data to make informed decisions, identify trends, and communicate impact to stakeholders. Leverages data to guide team priorities and workflow optimization.
  • Partner cross-functionally with Claims, Clinical, and Case Management teams to streamline workflows and eliminate process gaps.
  • Lead change management efforts related to evolving practices, technology enhancements, and procedural updates.
  • Demonstrates flexibility in shifting priorities and adapting strategies to meet evolving business needs. Can lead through ambiguity with confidence
  • Demonstrates behaviors consistent with the Leadership DNA framework (e.g., lead with purpose, drive outcomes, elevate others, makes valuable connections).
  • Maintain compliance with regulatory guidelines, internal policies, and industry best practices.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Healthcare Administration, Business, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 5+ years of experience in disability claims management, with at least 2+ years in a leadership role.
  • Deep understanding of STD and LTD processes, RTW strategies, and disability operations.
  • Proven ability to lead teams through change while maintaining a focus on performance, quality, and customer experience.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities, with a collaborative mindset.


Preferred:

  • Case Management background (e.g., claims, vocational or healthcare professional).
  • Experience working in triage or transition-focused disability programs.
  • Familiarity with claim management platforms and data reporting tools.

What we offer you:

Prudential is required by state specific laws to include the salary range for this role when hiring a resident in applicable locations. The salary range for this role is from $107,300.00 to $166,400.00. Specific pricing for the role may vary within the above range based on many factors including geographic location, candidate experience, and skills.
