DEPARTMENT: Coroner
WORK SCHEDULE: As Assigned
STATUS: Part-time
FLSA STATUS: Non-exempt
HOURLY RATE: $ 22.1135 per hour

Incumbent serves as Part-time Office/Clerical Staff for the Hamilton County Coroner, responsible for assisting the Department with clerical work and fulfilling public records requests.
DUTIES:
Responds to telephone calls and greets office visitors professionally, addressing inquiries, providing information, and directing requests to appropriate staff members.
Retrieves case reports as requested, ensuring accuracy and timeliness in meeting organizational and departmental needs.
Extracts relevant data from case reports, reviews for accuracy, and formats information according to requirements of requesting organizations.
Prepares and sends formatted data to external organizations, ensuring compliance with privacy and confidentiality standards.
Maintains organized records and filing systems for case reports and related documentation, both electronically and hard copy as needed.
Performs clerical duties, such as scanning documents, creating correspondence, and distributing mail within office.
Assists with creating and updating templates and forms related to data reporting and organizational requests.
Adheres to Department procedures and ensures compliance with legal and ethical standards regarding sensitive case information.
I. JOB REQUIREMENTS AND DIFFICULTY OF WORK:
High school diploma or HSE.
Working knowledge of standard office policies and procedures with computer skills, including word processing, spreadsheet, presentation, email, internet, and Department-specific software systems, and ability to apply such knowledge to a variety of interrelated processes, tasks, and operations.
Working knowledge of standard English grammar, spelling and punctuation, and ability to
prepare correspondence and reports.
Ability to file, organize and maintain accurate records.
Ability to effectively communicate orally and in writing with co-workers, other County departments, external organizations, and the public, including being sensitive to professional ethics, gender, cultural diversities, and disabilities.
Ability to properly operate standard office equipment, including telephone, computer, printer, scanner, and calculator.
Ability to understand, memorize, retain, and carry out written or oral instructions and present findings in oral or written form.
Ability to work alone with minimum supervision and with others in a team environment, work on several tasks at the same time, and work rapidly for long periods, occasionally under time pressure.
Ability to analyze, read and interpret case reports.
Ability to provide public access to or maintain confidentiality of Department information/records according to state requirements.
Shall comply with all employer and Department personnel policies and work rules, including, but not limited to, attendance, safety, drug-free workplace, and personal conduct.
