Job Description

AECOM Technical Services, Inc. has multiple openings for a Sr. Digital Technology Specialist BIM/VDC to be based in Phoenix, AZ.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate and actively participate in UAV flight operations efforts, including mission planning, resource management, final data processing, deliverable development, and safety.
  • Responsible for planning and flying automated missions to gather imagery for orthographic maps, videos, progress photos, LiDAR, and thermal inspection of various projects.
  • Support the development of VR and AR technologies and reality capture solutions (laser scanning, UAVs, 360 cameras) for as-built verification.
  • Schedule and lead project kickoff meetings with design-assist subcontractors and the A/E team to implement the Digital Project Delivery execution plan.
  • Ensure projects have adequately defined BIM requirements using AECOM Hunt’s standard project checklist for Digital Delivery. Set up 3D and model-based projects for coordination during project start-up while collaborating with the project team to ensure the project is optimized to include new technological advancements.
  • Manage and coordinate BIM models; configure the digital project for optimized collaboration with A/E and design teams, subcontractors, and trade partners; generate coordination schedule.
  • Provide as-needed detailing and project layout utilizing Revit and other BIM applications and platforms to facilitate field operations; assist and partner with subcontractors to secure the successful coordination of trade fabrication and shop drawings.
  • Lead and perform clash prevention and resolution with trade partners, as well as effectively communicate and coordinate RFIs with the design team and A/E partners.
  • Generate BIM 4D sequencing, 3D visualization, synthesize 360 reality capture and laser scanning; assist in data extraction from drone technologies and translate digital data into relevant information.
  • Provide leadership and coaching to junior BIM/VDC Technicians and Engineers to guide their development of critical industry knowledge and understanding of corporate standards.
  • Lead and oversee project kickoff meetings in partnership with junior BIM/VDC Technicians and Engineers to ensure accurate information is delivered to project teams and subcontractors.
  • Participate in and manage the development of presentations, including creating animations and images for proposals and marketing materials.
  • Generate 3D site logistic renderings and 4D animation utilizing digital applications, including Enscape, Adobe Illustrator, After Effects and Media Encoder, Infraworks, Synchro, Revit, RTV Tools, SketchUp, Near Map, and Google Earth integrations.
  • Lead and assist with RFP response strategy; generate creative solutions to showcase AECOM Hunt’s industry-leading capabilities.

Position requires up to 20% domestic travel.

Qualifications

Requires a Master’s degree in Civil Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, or a related field and 2 years of experience in the job offered or in an engineering-related occupation. Position requires:

 

  1. Scheduling software;
  2. Construction documents and interpreting prints;
  3. Commercial building design and documentation;
  4. Communicating technical information to operations;
  5. Operating procedures, principles, standards, and guidelines related to Design, Construction, Utilities, Scheduling, Asset Management, Document and Project Control, Surveying, Quantity takeoffs, and Preconstruction; and
  6. Operating tools such as Microsoft Project, AutoCAD, Primavera, or GIS.
