Senior Energy Analyst, Office of Sustainability and Innovations
Salary: $80,000 - $85,000 (Offer will be commensurate with experience)

Role Summary:
Confirmed leader of people and initiatives that serves as a critical member of the City’s Office of Sustainability and Innovations team. Responsible for administrative and professional work of a complex nature, including developing, starting, leading, managing, and supporting the identification, development, implementation, and evaluation of municipal and community-facing climate, energy, and innovation programs for the City. Includes starting and supporting the start-up of major new energy and climate-related projects with significant internal and community involvement. Administers, plans, coordinates, organizes, and monitors the activities within assigned programs/projects. Supervises staff, temporary employees, and interns, helping them grow individually and professionally.
Education, Training and Experience Required:
- Bachelor’s Degree in one or more of the following areas: natural resources, energy, sustainability, science, engineering, environment, planning, public policy, or related field. (three (3) additional years of experience can replace the degree requirement)
- Five years of professional experience, with at least three years being in an energy-related field.
- At least 2 years of large scale project experience.
- Community engagement related experience.
- Public speaking experience; developing and delivering presentations to a diversity of audiences.
- Strong quantitative and qualitative analytical skills.
- Experience working with groups of people to reach a common goal.
- The City of Ann Arbor will consider an alternative combination of education and experience
Education, Training and Experience Preferred:
- Six (6) years of relevant experience, including three (3) years of progressive responsible energy-related experience.
- Ability to handle large groups of active people with different opinions.
- Prior work or volunteer experience in municipal planning or sustainability.
- Previous supervisory experience.
- Prior experience working in the City of Ann Arbor.
