Department Specialist - Prepared Foods - Hanover Store - Full Time

Job Summary:  The Food Service Specialist will be fully able to competently perform any task in the department and will act as the department subject matter expert while prioritizing the delivery of an exceptional customer experience at all times.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

1. Act as department expert for members, shoppers, and staff. 
2. Prioritize hourly and daily department tasks while creating the best experience for the customer.
3. Participate in waiting on customers, cooking, ordering products, and maintaining inventory, using current systems and department best practices.
4. Demonstrate creative and innovative ideas contributing to creating products, merchandising initiatives, and department flow.
5. Maintain an extensive knowledge of products, vendors, cooking and sales in accordance with standards for assigned area.
6. Model highest standard for Food Safety best practices and SOP compliance.

Qualifications

High School or equivalent. 

Must be at least 18 years old.

A minimum of 3 years’ food service background required.

ServSafe certification is required

Skills and Abilities

• Ability to maintain fast-paced, continuous interactions, keeping up with the demand of a service department.
• Ability to properly operate all equipment in kitchen, deli, and prepared food areas with a good understanding of the maintenance, cleaning, and servicing requirements of the equipment.
• Ability to manage, rotate, and safely store all perishable, and non-perishable inventory according to established standards.
• Must be able to move around the department for the entire shift. 
• Must be able to lift up to 60 lbs. comfortably on a regular basis.
• Must bring best self to work remaining positive, productive, and cooperative.
• Good keyboarding skills with a high degree of accuracy.
• Ability to provide excellent customer service to internal and external customers

Attendance Requirements

Flexible hours, weekend and evening duty seven days a week.  Remain flexible to scheduling, and any task or position that needs to be completed or filled.
