Purpose
Provide broad-based, frontline legal support for PerkinElmer’s subsidiary businesses, including Perten, Solus, Covaris and Project Farma. Key responsibilities include managing litigation, supporting employment and regulatory matters, corporate governance and entity management, reviewing, drafting and negotiating sales and service agreements, distribution agreements, direct and indirect supply agreements, non-disclosure agreements, supporting M&A activities (as needed and assigned), and advice and training on compliance programs and policies associated with all of the above.
Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities:
- Partner with product teams and regional commercial teams to negotiate sales / service, distribution / indirect channel, R&D, supplier and other legal agreements.
- Draft, review and negotiate strategic business agreements and transactions.
- Provide legal assistance to corporate functions, including human resources, Finance, HR, Tax, etc.
- Advise the business on corporate governance, employment, compliance, privacy, antitrust, quality / regulatory and advertising / promotional matters.
- Support disputes with third parties.
- Manage outside counsel to defined budgets as and when engaged.
- Work collaboratively with other members of the legal department and assist as needed.
- Perform other related duties, as assigned or requested, as knowledge of the business and legal skills evolve.
- Support business clients across multiple time zones.
Basic Qualifications
- JD with 8-12 years prior experience at a large law firm or corporate legal department.
- Ability to effectively negotiate, persuade and offer creative resolutions to reach mutually acceptable compromise positions.
- Experience with private and public tender contracting processes.
