Job Description

AECOM has an opening for an Environmental Technician II in our Baton Rouge, Louisiana office.  The ideal candidate will be self-motivated, reliable, and have good interpersonal communication skills.  

Duties/Responsibilities:

• Performs soil, groundwater, surface water, waste, sediment and air sampling.
• Performs operation and maintenance (O&M) on treatment systems.
• Uses field instruments and equipment as necessary to meet health and safety as well as field sampling and O&M requirements.
• Documents all field activities and notes.
• Performs subcontractor oversight.
• Communicates effectively with project managers.
• Has a high degree of health and safety awareness.
• Works within defined scopes, schedules and budgets while producing quality work.
• Maintains knowledge of sampling procedures and protocols in accordance with recognized industry standards.
• Will work under close supervision of an engineer or scientist.  
• Work will entail daily and overnight travel to worksites.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

• High school degree plus 2 years of environmental technician experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.
• Valid Drivers License.

Additional Information

Compensation 

Non Exempt Position: The offered rate of compensation will be based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. The  range for this position is $18.58 - 31.94
