Northrop Grumman Space Systems—Missile Defense Integration offers an excellent opportunity for a Staff Agile Product Owner – BM/SRM Product Owner (26-003) to join our team of talented and diverse professionals. Based in Huntsville, AL, this role is essential to supporting the U.S. President, the Secretary of Defense, and combatant commanders at the strategic, regional, and operational levels.

This position does not provide relocation assistance and requires on-site work with no remote options.

Position Overview:

The Command and Control, Battle Management, and Communications (C2BMC) program is a key component of the Missile Defense System. It is a vital operational system that enables the U.S. president, the secretary of defense, and combatant commanders at strategic, regional, and operational levels to plan ballistic missile defense operations systematically, monitor the battle collectively, and dynamically control networked sensors and weapon systems to achieve global and regional mission goals. C2BMC supports layered missile defense capabilities that enable an optimized response to threats across all ranges and flight phases. It serves as a force multiplier by networking, integrating, and synchronizing autonomous sensor and weapon systems and operations globally and regionally to improve performance. C2BMC is essential for all ground and flight tests that verify and demonstrate current and future missile defense system capabilities.

The candidate will serve as the Product Owner for the C2BMC Battle Management / Sensor Resource Management (BM/SRM) Product Team. The candidate will be responsible for driving value delivery for the BM/SRM applications within a complex missile-defense command-and-control system.

Essential Functions:

  • Define and Communicate Product Vision – Articulate a clear, outcome-driven vision for the C2BMC BM/SRM solution that aligns with stakeholder goals and program objectives

  • Own and Prioritize the Product Backlog – Continuously refine, order, and decompose BM/SRM backlog items to maximize delivered value each iteration and ensure items are ready for sprint planning

  • Facilitate Collaborative Planning – Lead sprint planning, backlog grooming, and sprint review sessions for BM/SRM

  • · Lead Quarterly Program Increment (PI) Planning – Own the preparation, facilitation, and follow-through of each quarterly PI planning event for BM/SRM, ensuring that business objectives are translated into clear PI goals, feature breakdowns, and realistic team capacities; capture and communicate PI commitments, risks, and dependencies to all stakeholders

  • Drive Incremental Value Delivery – Translate stakeholder needs into small, testable increments; validate that each increment meets the Definition of Done and delivers measurable value to the customer

  • Stakeholder Alignment & Expectation Management – Establish transparent, cadence-based communication channels to keep government, internal customers, and leadership aligned on priorities, trade-offs, and progress

  • Monitor and Report Progress – Use Agile metrics (velocity, burn-up/burn-down) and Earned Value Management (EV) data to provide transparent status updates to leadership and surface risks early

  • Coordinate Cross-Team Dependencies – Identify, negotiate, and manage dependencies across multiple task orders and ARTs to ensure smooth integration and release execution

  • Develop Estimates & Basis of Estimates (BOEs) – Produce high-confidence effort estimates and BOEs for task instructions and RFPs, leveraging historical velocity and team capacity data

  • Mentor and Coach Agile Practices – Guide BM/SRM team members and stakeholders in Agile mindsets, ensuring consistent application of Scrum and SAFe practices across the program
