Position Summary:
The Technology Project Coordinator oversees small/medium projects and/or workstreams of larger projects under the moderate supervision of a Technology Project Manager. This individual will work directly with team members to ensure plans and budgets are updated, issues and decisions are resolved and tracked, and relevant project documentation is complete. This individual applies project management best practices and utilizes project management tools (such as JIRA) to organize, monitor and control project activities. The Technology Project Coordinator also provides project status updates and communicates effectively with project team members, Technology Project Managers and other managers.
Principle Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):
Technology Project Coordination
Coordinates with project sponsor and/or project lead to define project scope, objectives and success criteria
Works with Team Leads to develop detailed work plans, schedules, project estimates and resource plans
Uses project planning tools to create and maintain project plan including status, timeline, effort, and resourcing
Defines roles and responsibilities for assigned project team members
May run project meetings independently
Works under the direction of a Project/Program Manager
Technology Project Execution & Delivery
Drives execution of small/medium projects and/or segments of large projects from initiation to production
Coordinates execution of the project plan including monitoring progress against scope, schedule, and budget
Coordinates project activities for a work group / project team to ensure deliverables are completed
Ensure best practices and relevant project standards are applied across all phases of the project
Identifies and manages project dependencies and overall critical path to ensure the project execution is carried out timely and within budget
Identifies and escalates issues and obstacles appropriately; offers viable solutions and analyzes alternatives
Facilitates trade off decisions between quality, costs, resources, scope and time to prioritize demand with the support of project leads and key stakeholders
Project Reporting & Analysis
Provides periodic status reporting for managers and stakeholders to communicate status vs. plan, key decisions, and open issues and risks
Produces ad hoc project reporting using project management and relevant reporting tools which may include CA PPM, JIRA, Confluence, Excel, Powerpoint, Sharepoint, etc.)
Monitors project progress against schedule and cost, and reports variances
Candidate Qualifications include:
Knowledge/Skills
3+ years of related technology work experience
Understanding of project management principles (e.g. SDLC)
Familiarity with project management software (e.g. Jira, CA PPM, MS Project) to build/manage schedules and produce reporting
Experience with MS Office applications including: Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
Knowledge of project methodologies including theoretical aspects of project management
Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
Analytical and problem-solving skills
