Purpose: 

As the Global Science & Regulatory Affairs (SRA) Director, you will lead the global regulatory strategy and compliance agenda for AB InBev’s innovation and core platforms. This role sits at the crossroads of science, legislation, business strategy, and risk management—transforming regulatory complexity into clear, actionable guidance that empowers innovation and protects our global reputation. 

Based at our global GITEC innovation hub in Leuven, Belgium, you’ll work on forward-looking, high-impact initiatives that connect emerging science, consumer insights, and evolving legislation. You’ll have the opportunity to influence our global operations from grain to glass. 

 
The role: 

Regulatory Strategy & Compliance 

  • Lead global regulatory strategy across innovation and core projects to enable business growth while ensuring trust and compliance. 

  • Act as a strategic advisor for high-complexity initiatives across multiple markets and disciplines—including commercial, legal, technical, supply, and marketing teams. 

  • Perform horizon scanning to identify and assess upcoming risks and opportunities in food and beverage legislation. Convert findings into strategic roadmaps and mitigation plans. 

Global Alignment & Governance 

  • Drive global alignment across zones through synergies, shared knowledge, common policies, and training—ensuring regulatory excellence worldwide. 

  • Bridge the gap between science, regulatory frameworks, and consumer needs to make informed, risk-balanced decisions. 

Leadership & Collaboration 

  • Mentor and inspire a global SRA team to foster a culture of ownership, innovation, and scientific excellence. 

  • Collaborate with cross-functional and senior stakeholders to ensure science-based decision-making that supports innovation and compliance. 

 

Who we’re looking for: 

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a science-related field. 

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in Science & Regulatory Affairs or R&D roles involving legislation and its commercial implications. 

  • Strong knowledge of global food law and experience applying it in real-world contexts. 

  • Solid analytical skills—ideally with laboratory or scientific data experience. 

  • Excellent communication and influencing skills, with comfort engaging cross-functionally and at senior levels. 

  • Fluent in English (spoken and written); additional languages are a plus. 

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office tools. 

  • Willingness to travel internationally as needed.
