JOB DESCRIPTION
Position Summary:
The Planner I position is responsible for the planning and execution of customer order scheduling at Rexnord’s Aerospace Division. The primary focus is to align order requirements with operational resources through scheduling and inventory allocation procedures such that customer requirements are met in the most timely and economical manner. This position is responsible for the overall planning and consumption of inventory as it relates to the production plan. Generates and maintains status reports and provides information as needed to support the cross functional team and meet On-Time-Delivery to Rexnord customers.
Major Responsibilities:
- Plan, Schedule and Release production orders in order to maximize on-time delivery to customers while minimizing inventory and operational costs.
- Systematically analyze on-time performance (production and shipping) and inventory levels, derive root causes for deviations to standard, and drive corrective measures cross-functionally to achieve standard.
- Define inventory planning and control parameters in order to maximize on-time delivery and minimize inventory. Review inventory levels and take action to reduce unnecessary inventory.
- Review sales order status and provide feedback concerning planned recovery date, sales order risks / opportunities and root cause corrective actions.
- Lead, support, and implement process improvements utilizing lean concepts. i.e. 6s, defect reduction, effective daily management, process improvement techniques.
- Exemplify the culture of continuous improvement and simplification across the organization.
- Develop as a site/functional team member through training, Kaizens, and RBS tools to effectively utilize performance tools, methodologies, and philosophies to drive performance excellence.
- Work with site or functional leadership to develop current and future Value Streams, standard work, and sustained stability to achieve operating goals.
- Reduce scrap and non-conformances by eliminating waste and variation in all forms.
- Drives root cause corrective actions to reduce non-conformances.
- Assist operators in resolving set-up, tooling, and fixture problems, special processes (heat treatment, plating, and welding), and selection of proper tooling and grinding wheels.
- Develop, maintain, and implement process routings and set-up instructions for the production of parts and assemblies.
- Perform other assignments as assigned.

Required Education / Experience / Skills:
- Education: Associate’s degree preferably in Business or a Technical field
- Experience: 3-5years in production and inventory control.
- Highly Proficient in Microsoft Excel
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Outlook, Access)
- Detail oriented and data driven
- Demonstrated problem solving skills using lean methodologies
- APICS certification is a plus
- Strong verbal and written communication and presentation skills with all levels of employees and management.

- Six Sigma Green or Black Belt a plus
