RSM’s Center for Advanced Tax Technology (“CATT”) is a fast-paced, high-energy, collaborative environment that also happens to be one of the fastest growing tax practice groups at RSM. The CATT team is focused on enhancing RSM US and global ability to deliver comprehensive, value-added, and efficient Tax products and services to our clients. It is a dynamic team with professionals of varying backgrounds from tax functional, tax technical, technology development, and product management. The team consults and executes on a wide range of initiatives involving process and tool development and implementation including training development, engagement management, tool design, and implementation.
JOB SUMMARY
The CATT Lead Product Owner builds and maintains relationships with executives, leadership, and business stakeholders on strategic initiatives specific to designing, developing, and maintaining custom-developed software that is used by internal RSM partners and staff as well as external clients to drive long-term scalability and sustainability of the business for a competitive advantage. To execute their area of responsibility, this role collaborates with staff, product teams, IT, other functional areas within the broader RSM firm, and field offices to ensure we achieve the vision cohesively and effectively. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of success leading high-performance teams, strong data analytics capabilities, a continuous improvement mindset, and a deep passion for the digital transformational journey.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
Builds and maintains relationships with executives, leadership, and business stakeholders on strategic initiatives.
Defines and implements standards and procedures to drive efficiency across the Product Owner community within CATT.
Offers unique and/or deep expertise, services in a highly specialized role, and in that capacity manages risks and delivers services that consistently meet business needs and comply with firm policies and procedures.
Works with leadership on strategic management of the organization; including planning and oversight of resources within the "Product Owner" community.
Consistently demonstrates commitment to fiscal responsibility.
Works with Dev Lead and BA Lead to establish strategic roadmap(s) that enable the realization of digital transformation and ensures product team(s) are executing according to scope, time, budget, and agile methodology.
Serves as a Career Advisor for FTEs or hiring manager for Contractors, which requires regular feedback, coaching, goal setting and training with assigned advisees/contractors.
EDUCATION / CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor's Degree (preference given to Business or Technology or Accounting major).
Certified Professional Scrum Product Owner or equivalent experience.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
Minimum 10 years’ experience as a product owner leading software delivery team and developing solutions (required).
Minimum 5 years’ experience in software development, with a focus on using React-JS.NetCore platforms that are integrated utilizing APIs and deployed in Azure Cloud (required).
Results driven; high integrity; ability to influence, negotiate and build relationships; superior communications skills; make complex decisions and lead team through complex challenges (required).
Experience with Software Development Life Cycle (required); Secure Software Development Life Cycle (preferred).
Experience with Agile development methodologies (required).
Self-disciplined to work in a virtual, agile, globally sourced team (required).
Prior public accounting experience with mid to large size firm(s) or other professional services experience (preferred).
