Position Overview
The Division of Family & Community Services is seeking to hire an energetic and detail-oriented administrator to coordinate and evaluate the administrative aspects of the operations of Region 1 North Family and Community Resources Center locations. The position supervises and administers the activities of professional staff providing casework services to applicants seeking public assistance or referrals. The Division helps Illinois residents by connecting them with many programs and services. Through our programs, services and prevention efforts, the Division improves the health and well-being of individuals and promotes self-sufficiency and integrity of families of Illinois.
Essential Functions
- Serves as Assistant Regional Administrator (ARA) for a designated region in the Division of Family and Community Services (DFCS).
- Assists the RA in implementing statewide initiatives.
- Develops and maintains effective working relationships between offices and local communities in the assigned areas.
- Serves as full-line supervisor.
- Translates functions/procedures into Spanish for individuals who cannot speak or read English, in contacts with the general public, advocacy groups, customers and community organizations.
- Coordinates with administrators in the assigned area on program initiatives.
- Works in conjunction with investigatory officials concerning sensitive internal investigations into such areas as allegations of fraud, audits of case records and assessments of programs and services to identify improprieties.

Minimum Qualifications
- Requires knowledge, skill, and mental development equivalent to completion of four (4) years college with course work in a social or human services field.
