POSITION SUMMARY:
The Nurse Manager of the Emergency Department is responsible for overseeing daily operations, clinical care delivery, and administrative functions within the ED. This role combines direct patient care with leadership responsibilities to ensure high-quality, efficient, and patient-centered emergency services. The Nurse Manager works closely with physicians, advanced practice providers, and interdisciplinary teams to optimize patient flow, ensure regulatory compliance, and maintain a safe, effective care environment. This is a working manager role, requiring a balance of administrative leadership and scheduled clinical shifts.
ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS
Education:
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) required.
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred but not required.
Certification:
- BLS (Basic Life Support) – Required.
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) – Required.
- PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) – Required.
- TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course) – Preferred.
Licensure:
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of New Hampshire (or compact state).
- Association* accredited course in Basic Life Support (BLS) (for clinical staff), or Heartsaver CPR AED (for nonclinical staff), and renewal on a regular basis, with up to a three-month grace period after the expiration date.
Skills:
- Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to prioritize and manage in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment.

Work Experience:
- Minimum of five years of clinical nursing experience, with at least two years in emergency or critical care.
- Prior leadership or supervisory experience required.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Oversee day-to-day operations of the Emergency Department, including staffing, patient flow, and resource allocation.
