Tank Farm Operator, Processing Facilities

As a key member of GFL’s dynamic team, the Tank Farm Operator is responsible for all aspects of the Saskatoon tank farm. The Tank Farm Operator communicates daily with the internal divisions of GFL to ensure all needs are met in a safe and timely manner. Divisions requiring service include Vacuum Truck & Industrial Services, Logistics, and Automotive Fluid Services. The Tank Farm coordinator completes daily inspections of their area of responsibility, checks tank levels, and monitors requests for service in order to allocate their time effectively. Knowledge of industrial pumps and related equipment is essential to this position. Daily tasks may include general housekeeping, equipment maintenance, product transfers between tanks, loading product onto transport tankers, and offloading tankers and vac trucks. This position requires a keen eye for safety and detail due to the volumes and hazards of the materials handled on a daily basis. The successful candidate will be self-driven and committed to maintaining a safe workplace.

 

Job Duties
•    Safely operate all required equipment.
•    Maintain safe and clean work environment.
•    Ensure all assigned equipment is properly maintained.
•    Communicate effectively with a team of qualified professionals.
•    Participate in safety meetings, last minute risk assessments and job hazard assessments.

Requirements
•    Class 5 driver’s license with a clean driver’s abstract.
•    TDG knowledge and experience.
•    Experience with industrial pumping equipment.
•    Excellent communication skills.
