Summary: As a vital part of the MSU & Technology Department, this position will provide support to company-wide personnel.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: 

Must possess excellent communication skills to brief managers on installation progress, read blueprints and follow instructions precisely.
Other duties may be assigned by your manager:
• Must possess excellent communication skills to brief managers on installation progress, read blueprints and follow instructions precisely.
• The MSU Field Technician is responsible for ensuring that all work duties within the Technical Team are coordinated properly and carried out according to established standards.
• Install, diagnose, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain mobile surveillance units, their wiring, and associated system components using basic hand tools (testers, toners, voltmeters, screwdrivers, pliers, etc.) and powers tools (drills, cutters, grinders, etc.)
• Conducts site tours of client sites according to client contracts and policy and procedures.
• Works closely with Management Staff to resolve immediate operational and/or safety concerns and participates in scheduling and operational programs as directed.
• Provide a detailed report of replacement parts needed for repairs.
• Determine material requirements and installation procedures to complete projects.
• Receive work assignments from supervisor, collect tools and materials and transport materials and tools to work site.
• Maintain a clean work and storage area.
• Understand and adhere to all policies and procedures.
• Driver's license requirement and ability or competency in towing trailers as needed.
• Perform other assigned duties.

• High School Diploma, GED or higher.
• 3 or more years’ experience installing/servicing/programming Access Control, Surveillance, IP Cameras/CCTV, and Alarm Installation
• Class CE Electrical license
• Clean criminal and driving history, drug screening. • Software Knowledge is a bonus! Experience with

• Able to use a multimeter to troubleshoot a low-voltage DC system.
• Experience assembling or repairing mechanical and electrical components.
• Experience and desire to research and resolve technical issues utilizing manuals or other training materials.
• Be able to determine definitively the difference between a component or configuration issue.
• Write and speak English in a professional manner and collaborate well with others.
• Competent with hand and power tools and lift up to 75 lbs.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
• High School Diploma, GED or higher.
• 1 to 3 years’ experience installing/servicing/programming Access Control, Surveillance, IP Cameras/CCTV, Alarm Installation
• Class CE Electrical license
• Clean criminal and driving history, drug screening
