At Axis Communications we are passionate about creating a smarter and safer world! Do you want to be part of a team developing features for the next generation Axis products? We are now looking for an embedded developer to join the Fixed Dome Firmware team at our HQ in Lund, Sweden. 

Who is your future team?��� 

You will be an important part of one of our feature teams at the department Fixed Dome Cameras where we develop, deliver, and maintain the software for a broad range of Axis products.

What will you do?  

Your typical day will likely include one or more of the following:

• Collaborating on new features and designing effective solutions.

• Working closely with your team, sharing knowledge and offering support.

• Participating in daily stand-ups to keep everyone aligned, maintain momentum, and quickly address any issues.

• Analyse, design, and write software for features in our upcoming products

• Expanding your knowledge and pushing your boundaries with the support of helpful, knowledgeable colleagues.

We believe you have a strong personal drive, view knowledge sharing as an essential part of your daily routine and are inspired by working in an environment of openness, creativity, trust, commitment, playfulness, and encouragement.

We'd love to hear that you have:  

• A few years experience working with C, C++

• Experience from working in agile teams 

• Experience working with Linux system programming, user space, kernel space and device drivers knowledge   

• Knowledge how to plan and prioritise work in a team

• An engineering bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, physics, mathematics, engineering or equivalent  

   It’s a bonus if you are interested in:  

• Debug tools, GDB, Valgrind 

• Working with Rust

• Scripting, shell, Python, Perl  

• Low-level programming, e.g. using Micro Controllers (MCU)  

• Continuous integration, version control using Git, build tools  

• Computer Vision, Machine Learning, Deep Learning.
