JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
Penn State Intercollegiate Athletics, a NCAA Division I and Big Ten Conference Institution, is seeking a Senior Associate Athletic Director, Chief Performance Officer. This position will oversee the Athletic Training, Rehabilitation Services, Athletic Performance and High Performance units.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Collaborate with the Medical Director to oversee student-athlete care workflows
- Ensure alignment of performance and medical strategies with ICA department-wide goals
- Develop standardized protocols for injury prevention, surveillance, and return-to-play, integrating real-time data to ensure student-athlete readiness
- Facilitate communication between performance staff and medical staff to create unified care plans
- Streamlining staffing, training, and operational workflows within the performance and medical units
- Identify and leverage opportunities for innovation in performance analytics and medical technology
- Provide leadership that inspires collaboration among performance, medical, and administrative teams
Typically requires a Master’s Degree and 10 years of relevant experience. Additionally, the successful candidate must display excellent interpersonal and communication skills, a demonstrated commitment to integrity, inclusion, and diversity and an understanding and commitment to student-athlete well-being.
This position requires the following clearances: PA State Police Criminal Background Check, PA Child Abuse History Clearance Form, and Federal (FBI) Fingerprint Criminal Background Check. Due to the financial and fiduciary responsibilities of this position, successful completion of a credit history check will be required. This position requires that you operate a motor vehicle as a part of your job duties. A valid driver’s license and successful completion of a motor vehicle records check will be required.
