The Opportunity 

MWC is a state of the art cheese and whey production facility in St. Johns, MI. MWC is a joint venture between Glanbia Nutritionals, Dairy Farmers of America (DFA) and Select Milk Producers Inc. (Select). In the role you will determine needed repairs for all equipment, buildings and utilities; planning and directing the related activities in conjunction with the production schedules. This permanent position will report to the Engineering Manager and will; 

• Coordinate and direct day-to-day operations of the Preventative Maintenance and Stores teams including determining needs, establishing project priorities and assigning work tasks, scheduling work to effectively meet the production needs
• Supervise and direct the PM staff including PM Leads by providing training and development, monitoring and evaluating work performance, interviewing and hiring adequate staff and disciplining staff as necessary.
• Confer with engineers, contractors and other staff regarding maintenance projects such as progress reports, work evaluations and project details.
• Document departmental activity through SAP to include maintenance parts, preventative maintenance and work order-scheduling, preparation of various reports, work orders, maintenance schedules and other incidental record keeping.
• Monitor cheese process equipment to identify potential errors and develops solutions to eliminate the reoccurrence of those problems.

   The Skills you will bring to the team

• Bachelor’s degree or related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Knowledge of TPM and similar continuous improvement methodologies.
• Provide leadership to others through examples and sharing of knowledge/skill.
• Ability to prioritize tasks, handle multiply projects simultaneously and delegate assignments to others.
• Ability to effectively present information and respond to queries from leaders, clients, customers and the general public.
• Ability to identify assest reliability risks and manage asset failure prevention. 
• Knowledge of safety policies, practices and procedures and ability to lead team to adhere to them.
