Job Summary
The Center for Campus Wellness (CCW) is a confidential and comprehensive wellness office that provides wellness education, trainings and workshops (focus areas include mental health, sexual health, violence prevention, and substance use); victim-survivor advocacy services and support; safer sex services for students; collegiate recovery program, wellness coaching, and peer mentorship.
We are hiring student staff who will serve as Peer Health Educators (PHEs) with our team. We are recruiting for approximately 4 positions.
PHEs are a committed group of students who understand the importance of health and wellness, the value of connecting students to resources on campus to be successful while at the U, and who want to empower themselves and their peers to make positive changes. During their time as a PHE, students will learn about the different programs and services that CCW offers, will further the offices’ mission by supporting our outreach efforts (through tabling and workshop presentation), and support our service delivery (through staffing STI testing clinics, packing and delivering our Pleasure Packs, etc.).
Scheduling Expectations:
August 24, 2026 – May 7, 2027 (regular PHE schedule): Beginning August 24 (first day of fall semester) through May 7 (last day of classes for spring semester), PHEs are expected to work 10-12 hours per week. These hours may be held during regular business hours (8-5, M-F) but will also include evening or weekend events/programs. PHEs will not be required to work during academic breaks (fall, winter, spring), University closure days or holidays when Student Affairs is closed, or during finals week for the fall or spring semester.
Mandatory Training (Paid): 25 hours of online, self-paced summer training to complete between June 1st and before the Fall Training date (August 20). -Mandatory in-person training held on August 20-21. Times TBD.
