About the role

We are seeking a talented Scrum Master to join our team based in the UK and help drive the growth of INSTANDA.

As a Scrum Master, you will develop and lead multi-discipline teams, instilling in them a clear vision. You will ensure development teams follow the scrum framework values and agile practices, mentoring and motivating the teams to improve processes and facilitate Scrum and decision-making meetings.

The ideal candidate should have a firm grasp of agile practices and the ability to effectively manage and mentor development teams, with a strong focus on improving team efficiency and eliminating impediments.

This role is UK based, primarily remote working with some travel required to our London Office, or occasionally outside of London to meet the team.  

You will

  • Coach the team on Agile/Scrum processes.
  • Proactively communicate risk, performance, team issues, and business-related items to appropriate parties.
  • Schedule and facilitate Scrum ceremonies.
  • Empower the team to improve continuously
  • Promote and support a self-managing environment
  • Effectively facilitate retrospective sessions and work with the team on action items to ensure team members improve over time.
  • Guide teams in estimation practices
  • Drive execution of sprints, communicate to management and other stakeholders and protect the team from unplanned work injection.
  • Manage operational conflicts and impediments to keep the teams running at high performance.
  • Able to retrospect and analyse root causes to help teams continuously improve their practices to ensure maximum productivity
  • Build trust and create a safe environment where problems can be raised without fear of blame, retribution, or judgement, with an emphasis on healing and problem solving
  • Facilitate discussions, decision-making, and conflict resolution with the Agile teams.

Requirements

You will successfully demonstrate:

  • 1+ years of experience as a scrum master in the software industry.
  • 2+ years of experience working with teams using Agile methodologies
  • Strong knowledge of software project management tools to track progress (Jira)
  • Scrum Master certification (CSM, PSM-I, PSM-II)
  • Experience dealing with challenging projects.
  • Strong facilitating and conflict management skills
  • A great team player with a can-do attitude

Nice to have:

  • Experience in the insurance sector would be a bonus
