Job Description
The Residential Lending Closing Manager is responsible for the supervision of the day to day closing/funding operations, and the supervision of closing staff for the distributed mortgage, virtual mortgage, and equity lending channels.
Essential Functions
Ensure compliance with Northwest’s policies and procedures, and Federal/State regulations
Navigate Microsoft Office Software, computer applications, and software specific to the department in order to maximize technology tools and gain efficiency
Work as part of a team
Work with on-site equipment
Supervise the day to day operations of the distributed mortgage, virtual mortgage, and home equity lending channels.
Implement strategies, policies, and guidelines
Hold team accountable for results
Balance closing pipelines
Manage the scheduling and issuance of closing disclosures (CD’s)
Manage document correction requests from the loan servicing department
Partner with the Operations department with regard to system issues
Manage Daily Approval report
Monitor the flow of loans selected for post-closing QC review
Ensure compliance with secondary market investor, insurer, and Federal/State guidelines
Follow the provisions of the Gramm-Bliley Act and Northwest’s privacy policy; maintaining a high level of confidentiality
Solve/research issues with closings (Title, taxes, etc)
Lead team effort to ensure accountability for maximum results as defined by key performance indicators
Work with mortgage and equity loan closers to maximize their results through consistency and best practices
Perform pipeline reviews with closers to ensure targets are met regarding delivery of initial closing disclosures and closing dates
Maintain an active working pipeline and the ability to manage a pipeline as directed by management
Implement procedures to retain loans
Develop relationships with attorneys, settlement agents, realtors, brokers & correspondents
Comply with mortgage industry guidelines, and investor, insurer and Northwest policies
Provide feedback for annual performance reviews of all staff and complete annual performance reviews for all residential lending closers
Participate in the interview and hiring process for new team members
Coordinate on-going training and development of staff
Participate in audits and exams as directed by management and provide written responses as required
Manage team and operational processes in order to maintain acceptable quality control, audit, and exam ratings
Complete and analyze metrics for all residential closers on a monthly basis to provide recommendations to management regarding staffing needs for residential closers
Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree Business, Finance, or related degree preferred
8 - 12 years Closing mortgage loans and leading production teams required
Expert knowledge of investor and insurer underwriting guidelines
Expert knowledge of all applicable regulatory guidelines, secondary market and Northwest loan products and guidelines
Knowledge of government loan products and programs
Knowledge of construction to perm, construction, and improvement loan products and programs
Extensive knowledge of home equity loan products and programs including but not limited to Home Equity Installment Loans, Home Equity Lines of Credit, Land/Lot Loans, and Bridge Loans
Travel Requirements
Occasionally Training, In-Person Meetings, Meeting with Staff at Various Locations
