Department Overview
Enterprise Business Processes is a cross-functional organization that is leading PG&E’s Propel program, a major business and technology modernization program to unlock customer value by simplifying the way we work together. Propel will migrate PG&E to the new version of SAP, S/4HANA, seizing this unique opportunity for PG&E to standardize business processes, clean the technology core, and enable innovation for breakthrough change across Engineering, Operations, Finance, Supply Chain, Human Resources, and Information Technology. Through a phased approach, Propel will implement process standardization, operating model changes, data improvements, SAP, and other technology applications with a focus on incrementally improving business capabilities and delivering value.
Enterprise Business Processes is comprised of multi-disciplinary coworkers with deep functional and industry expertise to design and implement end-to-end business processes and technology solutions following industry leading practices. The team partners closely with IT and external partners to work collaboratively with many stakeholders to adopt standard processes and maximize use of out-of-the-box proven technology solutions to meet business needs. Position Summary
The Project Management Office (PMO) Principal Program Manager will be instrumental in managing the Propel program plan to ensure alignment with strategic business goals. The successful candidate will be primarily focused on planning and orchestration of program resources, ensuring the use of PG&E’s performance playbook to achieve high-quality scope, schedule and budget delivery on time, supporting business case refinement, and handling a significant number of engagements involving stakeholders internally and externally, whether this be through workshops, demos, roadshows, conferences, or benchmarking trips. The successful candidate for this high-profile position will be integral to all PMO activities, and will work closely with our Change Management Office, Value Management Office, and entire Business and IT program delivery team. This individual must be a self-starter and is strategically minded, execution-oriented, and highly organized with attention to detail. In addition, the individual must possess a track record of leading or supporting major and complex initiatives, and is able to demonstrate specific experiences that highlight strong tactical skills, problem-solving skills, and measurable results.
PG&E is providing the salary range that the company in good faith believes it might pay for this position at the time of the job posting. This compensation range is specific to the locality of the job. The actual salary paid to an individual will be based on multiple factors, including, but not limited to, specific skills, education, licenses or certifications, experience, market value, geographic location, and internal equity. Although we estimate the successful candidate hired into this role will be placed towards the middle or entry point of the range, the decision will be made on a case-by-case basis related to these factors.
A reasonable salary range is:
Bay Area Minimum: $140,000
Bay Area Maximum: $238,000
Job Duties
- Applies expert knowledge to address program changes, issues, and risks to achieve program goals.
- Leads or participates in schedule planning, budget planning, vendor management, and resource planning efforts.
- Anticipates program challenges and bottlenecks and develops innovative solutions.
- Manages time architecture and lean operating structure including developing content and format for reports and dashboards, delivering presentations to leaders regarding the program status and progress.
- Develops or orchestrates Board material.
