AML/KYC - Manager

What You Will Do:

 

The AML/KYC Manager leads the firm’s anti–money laundering and investor due diligence program across all private equity and credit fund clients. This person ensures full compliance with global AML regulations, manages a team responsible for investor onboarding reviews, and serves as a key liaison among clients, investors, and regulators.

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee the AML/KYC due diligence process for all new and existing investors, ensuring compliance with jurisdictional regulations (e.g., CIMA, SEC, FCA, MAS).

• Supervise a team of analysts performing KYC reviews, name screening, and ongoing monitoring.

• Review and approve high-risk or complex investor files, including entities, trusts, and PEPs.

• Maintain and update AML policies, procedures, and risk assessment frameworks in line with regulatory changes.

• Coordinate with Legal, Compliance, and Client Services teams to ensure consistent application of AML standards.

• Liaise with clients (GPs and fund sponsors) to explain AML requirements and resolve escalations.

• Manage transaction monitoring and escalation of unusual or suspicious activity; file SARs or equivalent reports as required.

• Conduct periodic AML training for internal staff and contribute to firmwide compliance culture.

• Prepare and present regulatory reporting or audit documentation (internal or external).

• Monitor and implement FATCA/CRS compliance processes, where relevant.

 

What You’ll Need:

• At least 5 years of direct compliance experience consulting for or working within a private equity, private credit or venture capital investment adviser
• Advanced knowledge of the Investment Advisers Act of 1940 and state laws, knowledge of the Investment Company Act of 1940 and FINRA broker dealer regulations is a plus
• Ability to independently manage client relationships with the support of Petra’s Compliance Team

 

Salary Range
At Petra Funds Group, we are committed to transparency and equity in our hiring practices. The compensation range for this position is $92,000 - $153,000 per year. This range represents the base salary only. Actual pay will depend on factors such as qualifications, experience, and skills.
