Project Overview

You will be joining the Bechtel Knoxville Execution Center.

Working as part of the Pipe & Valve group, you will assit with maintaining & maintenance of Material Piping Class class sheets & may also support design development of facility layouts, piping, & equipment 3D models for various projects as part of the NS&E execution center team. The projects that will be assigned involve government work throughout various sectors including DOE and DOD, as well as commercial nuclear projects and business development projects. 

 

Position Summary

Essential duties include being familiar with development of piping material specifications. Candidate should have experience and be familiar with ASME piping codes and standards to help with code comparisons to support project needs.  The candidate will perform dimensional data review for piping components specified in Bechtel piping material classes. Ability to create geometric data in accordance with Industry Design Codes/Standards and project requirements in Smart Reference Data (SRD) application. Possess adequate experience to adopt a practical approach to piping component problems and be familiar with the requirements of 3D modelling. 

 

Responsibilities

• Familiar with the development of piping material specifications.
• Candidate should have past experience and be familar with ASME piping codes and standards to help with code comparisons to support project needs.
• Perform dimensional data review for piping components specified in Bechtel piping material classes.
• Ability to create geometric data in accordance with Industry Design Codes/Standards and project requirements in Smart Reference Data (SRD) application.
• Develop and maintain piping commodity codes in SRD application.
• Having adequate experience to adopt a practical approach to piping component problems and be familiar with the requirements of 3D modelling.
• Assist Bechtel Plant Design Piping & Valve Group and coordinate with Engineering Automation discipline as required.

 

Qualifications and Skills

Basic Qualifications

• Level 1: AAS degree from an accredited college or university with a minimum of 8 years of related experience.

• Level 2: AAS degree from an accredited college or university with a minimum of 11 years of related experience.

• This role requires a facility-specific clearance that requires U.S. Citizenship.

• Must have the right to work and remain in the U.S. without sponsorship.  

• Must be able to complete a pre-employment drug screen and background check. 

 

Preferred Qualifications

• Knowlegde of SRD in creation of Piping Specifications.
• Previous Bechtel Pipe & Valve experience.
• Familar with development of piping material specifications.
• Previous commercial nuclear power experience.
