Global Manager: Financial Planning and Analysis

Reporting to the Global Head of SF&I, the Global Manager for Financial Planning and Analysis "FP&A" will work closely with Financial Analysts, Financial Managers, and senior leadership from the various Dentons Regions to monitor performance and increase operational efficiency and profitability by assisting with the formulation of both medium and long-term financial and operational plans.

The role is both operational and project based with the individual assisting in the delivery of key initiatives, ranging from developing and deploying technical solutions, supporting transformational projects, and taking the initiative to identify areas for improvement in current processes and drive forward change.

Requirements

·       Leading the delivery of combined (aggregate) financial results and key performance indicators for Dentons on a global basis, together with supporting business insight, competitive financial benchmarking, commentary, and trend analysis, communicating results and recommendations to senior management for improvements that will lead to cost reduction, revenue generation and streamlining operations.

·       Collecting information for the Global Budget process, consolidating budget data, and preparing reports.

·       Undertake special projects as agreed with the SF&I from time-to-time. This includes, for example, supporting various initiatives, long term financial forecasting of revenue and costs for specific jurisdictions, constructing business plans and/or efficiency enhancement plans, harmonizing recommendations with Dentons firm-wide projects and strategies, and ad hoc reporting demands.

·       Develop granular understanding of Dentons GAAP and the different Dentons Regions accounting standards, finance processes, and supporting financial and managerial systems, to provide inputs and help construct best practice policies for transformation projects.

·       Develop a minimum set of financial standards which will improve global reporting and the design of future practice management and accounting systems being rolled out.

·       Actively engage with all Dentons Regions to learn about profitability enhancement measures, key performance indicators monitoring and applicability, annual budget processes, financial reporting, management of accounts receivable, client billing and collecting, so to develop a set of best practices to be shared across the Firm.

·       Support SF&I in driving forward efficiency within the function. Delivering on various projects to improve processes within the team and for the finance teams of Dentons regions.

Experience, Skills & Knowledge

·       Experience at a Big 4 firm, and for the individual to be a qualified accountant.

·       Advanced computer software skills, with a focus on Excel and PowerPoint.

·       Experience with PowerBI would be desirable.

·       Excellent communication skills with ability to build relationships.

·       Empathetic and collaborative, with strong interpersonal and soft skills including stakeholder management, with the ability to interact positively at all levels and be a good team player.

·       Experience within complex, multi-dimensional international organizations.

·       High level of financial and commercial experience within a comparable professional services firm.

·       Entrepreneurial spirit, able to think creatively and deliver non-orthodox answers to complex problems.

·       High level of commercial acumen.

·       Professional services experience desirable.

The individual should be comfortable working independently and remote to their team members. The role is a global role, with many of the Global Finance team members based across the globe and will require the individual to be able to adjust their working pattern to the various time zones we work with.

This role has no requirement to be in the office on a full-time basis and is mainly a work from home role, with access to local Dentons offices.
