Job Description

  1. Perform data center cost and quantity takeoff estimating, manage data center project budgets and schedules, identify risks, and communicate them to project stakeholders.
  2. Analyze drawings and project specifications at Basis of Design, Schematic Designs, Detailed Designs & Issue for Construction sets.
  3. Perform cost engineering functions including cost control, budget preparations, forecasting, cashflow, and reporting without supervision to ensure operational effectiveness and contractor competency.
  4. Ensure all specifications are clearly outlined in contract documents so as to avoid disputes, delays, and significant cost increases.
  5. Create cost libraries for program data and perform benchmarking to support the current and future project portfolios.
  6. Analyze program datasets with google sheets or PLEX tables for data centers construction projects and create a Should Cost analysis for negotiations with vendor partners.
  7. Support data center project managers with change order review, SOW review, review and approval of vendor partners proposals, invoicing, pay applications, risk management, value management, and value engineering, and identifying trends using leading indicators.
  8. Develop and implement best practice cost control processes through Data Studio and PLEX reports through collaborating cross functionally with many stakeholders.
  9. Support decision making analysis using objective data to support recommendations that are in line with the clients expectations.
  10. Perform the foregoing using Google Suite, Data Studio, Looker & Tableau.

  1. Analyzing construction drawings and project specifications at Basis of Design, Schematic Designs, Detailed Designs & Issue for Construction sets.
  2. Performing cost and quantity takeoff estimating to create bill of quantities at different stages of design including Basis of Design, Schematic Design, Detailed Design & Construction Documents.
  3. Managing construction project budgets and schedules, identifying project costs risks, providing value engineering options and clearly communicate them to project stakeholders.
  4. Performing cost engineering functions including cost control, forecasting cash flows, reviewing change orders & pay applications, comparing RFP’s and creating cost reports to ensure operational effectiveness and contractor competency
  5. Developing and implementing construction costs benchmarking through collecting and maintaining historical construction costs data to improve and reconcile original budget estimates.
  6. Reviewing and negotiating construction contractual agreements including preconstruction, guaranteed maximum price (GMP), etc. with general contractors, subcontractors & architects/engineers.
  7. Creating and managing construction cost data through creating cost libraries which captures labor rates, material rates, install rates, localization factors, etc.
  8. Developing benchmarking strategies to implement best practices through developing forecasted costs against the initial budgets and supporting standardization by providing data integrity.
  9. Analyzing contracts to ensure operational effectiveness, contactor competency, and adherence to budgetary requirements.
  10. Collaborating with stakeholder and vendor groups (i.e. General Contractors, Architects, Engineers & Subcontractors) to clearly communicate project requirements and avoid any project delays.
  11. Taking Initiatives for service improvement, client vendor relationship building & drive automation to mark efficiencies on cost savings for construction projects.
  12. Performing all of the foregoing using Excel, Google Sheets, On Screen Take off, Microsoft Suite & Google Suite.

SALARY RANGE: $140,000 to $200,000/year
