Job Summary:
We are seeking a CLINICAL NURSE II in our Durham OBGYN office to be an integral member of the healthcare team and provide direct and indirect care to patients. This position provides responsibility for nursing care of patients under the assigned supervision of a physician in an outpatient clinic setting. Administer medications and care techniques for assigned patients. Provides nursing services to patients and families in accordance with the scope of the RN as defined by the North Carolina Nursing Board. Provide administrative support to the physicians. Provide a consistently available, medically trained point of contact for patients.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Charge Nurse (ex. Delegate tasks, clinic flow, supervise unlicensed clinical staff)
- Telephone Triage for ages 15 and up
- Patient education (ex. New OB, GYN, and Surgical work ups
- Assist providers as needed (ex. Procedures and exams)
- Using Epic/Maestro care System (ex. In-basket, Rx refills, patients and provider messages)
- Staff Education (ex. POCT & other competencies)
- Monitor and initiate corrective action to maintain a safe environment of care
- Participate in the identification of clinical, operational, and safety related performance improvement opportunities.
- Perform other duties incidental to work described that in within the RNs scope of practice.
Job Eligibility Requirements:
- Work requires graduation from an accredited BSN or Associate's Degree in Nursing or Nursing Diploma program.
- All registered nurses without a Bachelor's degree in Nursing (or higher) will be required to enroll in an appropriate BSN program within two years of their start date and to complete the program within five years of their start date.
- Twelve months of appropriate clinical experience is required.
- Must have current or compact RN licensure in the state of North Carolina. BLS required.
Job Schedule:
The schedule for this position is day shifts, Monday-Friday, with no weekends or holidays.
