Join the MercyOne Family! We are looking to hire an Abstractor/Coder for Cardiology.

As an Abstractor/Coder you will post physicians services and professional fees into general computer system. Coordinates work in area of responsibility. Acts as a resource to coworkers and manager.

· Acts as a liaison with Billing staff to include Office, Hospital and Tech Services.

· Coordinates and performs QA on EMR product rollouts with IS Department.

· Manages work group insurance denials.

· Compiles, codes and posts professional charges.

· Research medical records to compile missing information of procedures performed.

· Oversees flow of work in area of responsibility.

· Works with department manager to enhance workflow and procedures.

· Codes and bills hospital procedures on an as needed basis.

· Imports and verifies office-based charges.

General Requirements:

· High School Diploma or equivalent.

· Computer experience required.

· Medical terminology preferred.

· Prior CPT/ICD9 or insurance experienced preferred.

· Coding certification required within 6 months of hire (CPC, ACS-CA, SCP-CA).

· Proof of completion of Mandatory Reporter abuse training for child and dependent adult abuse within three (3) months of hire.

· Clinical background preferred.
