About the role

General Summary

Responsible for all purchasing activities relating to cost, quality and service for Equipment and Equipment installation services, such as robots, conveyors, pallets, and programming at KIA GEORGIA.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Select, develop and manage supply base for equipment, equipment installation services, and MRO by: Auditing purchase request for accuracy and completeness.
  • Preparing RFQs for user department requirements.
  • Develop negotiation strategy and negotiate equipment purchases.
  • Negotiating  MRO purchases such as spot purchases and long term agreements.
  • Maintaining competitive pricing.
  • Leading yearly cost reduction activities.
  • Monitoring supplier quality and delivery performance.
  • Work closely with suppliers and internal departments to assist in the resolution of commercial issues.
  • Explore available processes and implement best practices related to purchasing activities.
  • Plan, organize, track and disseminate information related to MRO purchases.
  • Maintain up to date supply base information database.

Qualifications & Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business or Operations Management along with two (2) to five (5) years of progressive experience in the Supply Chain field in a manufacturing environment preferably within the automotive industry, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Knowledge of supply chain and accounting processes and practices is preferred.
  • MRO / Indirect Purchasing experience.

Specialized Skills and Knowledge Required

  • Experience using Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Access.
  • Experience with SAP system preferred.
  • Knowledge of supply chain and accounting processes and practices is preferred.
  • Certified Professional in Supply Management  (C.P.S.M.) designation preferred.
