Position Description:
 

Assists the surgical team during the operative procedure. This person, under the guidance of the Surgeon and Registered Nurse, is responsible for the care and safety of the patients that come under his/her care. Included within this assignment is the responsibility for ensuring effective communication between him or herself, the Charge Nurse, the patient, other staff, physicians, and other hospital departments. The CSFA assist with patient care by management of resources on the sterile field. This individual will be responsible for On-Call surgical cases as needed and related office base duties.

Qualifications:
Graduation from a scrub tech program with an Associate's Degree is required.
Must be Certified Surgical Tech.
Must be Certified Surgical First Assist (CSFA).
Two years of experience as a First Assist on cardiovascular surgeries is required.
