Summary
The Product Data Specialist acts as a critical link in the product lifecycle, primarily focusing on the accurate management, coordination, and integrity of customer product data. This role is essential for ensuring a seamless transition from customer design data to Celestica’s internal systems, directly impacting manufacturing efficiency, supply chain operations, and overall customer satisfaction. The Specialist will serve as a focal point for product data technical issues and drive data quality improvements.
Detailed Description

Data Management & Integrity: Receive, log, and convert customer product data (e.g., Bills of Materials and preferred supplier lists) into formats used by internal systems.

Engineering Change Management: Initiate and manage Engineering Change Orders (ECOs), updating product data across all relevant systems promptly and accurately.

Process Improvement: Drive continuous improvement of product data release processes and ensure the overall quality and compliance of all product data.

Data Resolution: Work with internal cross-functional teams (Engineering, Supply Chain, Operations) and external customers to investigate and resolve complex data integrity issues.

Coordination & Release: Act as the focal point for all product data-related technical issues. Disseminate notifications regarding data readiness and distribute finalized data as appropriate.

System Knowledge: Utilize various databases and business applications (including ERP and document control systems) to perform tasks with speed and a high degree of accuracy.

Mentorship: Support and mentor junior Product Data Administration positions.
Knowledge/Skills/Competencies

Strong knowledge of the manufacturing process and ISO 9001/9002 requirements.

High proficiency in data entry with meticulous attention to detail and accuracy.

Competence in using computer applications, including Microsoft Office (especially Excel) and relevant business applications/databases (e.g., ERP, PLM systems).

Ability to evaluate, prioritize, and manage a variety of tasks under frequent and ongoing interruptions.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills for effective interaction with diverse internal and external customers.

Strong organizational and filing skills for both hard copy and electronic information.
Physical Demands
The physical demands for this role are generally light and characteristic of an office-based position, with occasional exposure to the manufacturing floor.

Typical Experience
4 to 6 years of relevant professional experience, typically in a product data, data analyst, or supply chain role within a manufacturing or electronics environment.
Typical Education
A Bachelor's degree in a related field is often preferred, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
