Housekeepers are responsible for the overall cleanliness of the facility while observing proper infection control policies and procedures. A Housekeepers primary responsibility is to maintain the cleanliness of the recreation center. This includes the main fitness floor, group fitness studios, locker rooms, offices, and any other miscellaneous areas. Our housekeeping team plays a vital role in the overall presentation of the gym and has a significant impact on the members’ daily experience! We are looking for team players to add to our staff.

POSITION DETAILS

Job Title: Housekeeper

Location: Gypsum Recreation Center (Gypsum, CO)

Schedule: Part-Time; Year-Round

Work Environment: Works indoors and outdoors at the Gypsum Recreation Center. Work hours and days may vary, with some holiday hours included. Position may require long periods of standing or sitting.


Supervision Required: Works under the direct supervision of the GRC Facility Coordinator and Facility Supervisor

Supervision Exercised: None


Salary: $15.71-$19.62/hour DOE; staff in this position are eligible for a $1/hour incentive for Spanish/English bilingual and can pass the language competency test.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 

General Statement of Duties: Clean and sanitize facility restrooms and using established procedures; clean, dust, wipe and keep furniture and recreation/exercise equipment in good condition; sweep, mop, or vacuum floors; empty and clean trash containers; Performs deep cleaning projects; Attends staff meetings and training sessions as necessary; Perform proactive cleaning daily.


Examples of Duties:

  • Clean and sanitize facility restrooms and using established procedures.
  • Refill restroom dispensers and re-stock supplies.
  • Sweep, mop or vacuum floors; strip, clean buff and apply floor sealer and floor finish to hard surface floors, vacuum, and      shampoo carpets.
  • Use and maintain assigned power equipment and hand tools; buffers, auto-scrubbers, high pressure washers, high speed      scrubbers and vacuums, mops, broom, and squeegees.
  • Wash interior and exterior windows.
  • Follow instructions regarding the use of chemicals and supplies- use as directed.
  • Lock and unlock assigned areas, secure building when facilities are not in use, check for unlocked doors, and windows. Report      any unauthorized occupants, turn off lights.
  • Perform cleaning and related activities such as removing snow/debris from sidewalks, and stairs using hand operated      equipment or small power tools.
  • Assists with the setup of facilities for meetings, events, classes, conferences etc.
  • Move furniture, equipment, supplies, and tools.
  • Launder cleaning rags and dust mops.
  • Attend to emergencies when necessary.
  • Handle recycling materials.
  • Check maintenance request forms and complete tasks as requested.
  • Assist in the instruction and supervision of volunteer help.
  • Inform supervisor of any known situation that may be hazardous to patrons or staff.
  • Inform appropriate personnel of any repairs needed to equipment.
