Job Summary:

The Principal Engineer will provide guidance and focus to the advancement of technology applications within the company’s facilities. The position is intended to promote the application of best practices in the planning, organizing, and execution of engineering and construction work for strategic projects across the organization. This includes technology assessments, detail engineering scope development, equipment specification development, vendor selection, construction/installation management models and quality control/assurance, commissioning activities, and post-startup evaluation of project results.

Job Responsibilities:

1. Applies technical understanding of hydrogen and ammonia production technology and operations and the rapidly evolving technologies for carbon capture, utilization, and sequestration (CCUS) to assist the integration of low carbon technologies into CF Industries’ operations.

2. Leads emerging technologies technical evaluations related to hydrogen, ammonia, decarbonization, and clean energy and develop company expertise for their incorporation into CF Industries’ clean energy strategy.

3. The successful candidate will define and develop the objectives and priorities of complex programs/ projects and have the ability to work across multiple sites.

4. Support sites in FEED, detail engineering, permitting, and construction planning to contribute to the evolution of CF’s strategic initiatives, utilizing their ability to recommend and evaluate complex/new designs and specifications.

5. Advises, mentors and trains less experienced colleagues across the network through influence and persuasion.

6. Promote the inclusion of company best practices across teams and locations in site engineering scope development, cost estimating, execution planning and metrics/controls to ensure compliance. All whilst promoting continuous innovations and improvements.

7. Recognize talented resources that can add value to strategic initiatives. Develop a resource sharing strategy from site to site (CF employees or Contract professionals).

8. Continually identify ways to add value to CF Industries through the Corporate Engineering group within its resources capabilities.

Internal Controls:
