We’re looking for a Staff Software Engineer, Optimization Product Platform to help develop and scale Webflow Optimize products, our AI-powered website optimization and personalization engine. We’re a fast-moving, data-driven team with deep experience in personalization, data visualization, and large-scale analytics and optimization products

In this role, you’ll help build and scale powerful product capabilities that provide key metrics and insights about user behavior, optimization and website analytics. You’ll play a major role in building and improving a high quality, performant and scalable Webflow experience.

  • Reporting to the Senior Engineering Manager
  • The cash compensation for this role is tailored to align with the cost of labor in different geographic markets. We've structured the base pay ranges for this role into zones for our geographic markets, and the specific base pay within the range will be determined by the candidate’s geographic location, job-related experience, knowledge, qualifications, and skills.
    • United States  (all figures cited below are in USD and pertain to workers in the United States)
      • Zone A: $175,800 - $247,700
      • Zone B: $164,500 - $232,200
      • Zone C: $154,200 - $217,600
    • United Kingdom  (all figures cited below are in GBP and pertain to workers in the United Kingdom)
      • CAD 199,300 - CAD 281,100

As a Staff Software Engineer, Optimization Product Platform you’ll…

  • Architect, design, and implement accessible user interfaces, scalable data architectures, and API endpoints that enhance Webflow’s optimization and analytics product experience.
  • Work on technologies such as Node.js, React,js, Javascript/Typescript, HTML, and CSS.
  • Collaborate with designers, PMs, data scientists, and engineers to lead projects focused on Optimization product capabilities.
  • Leverage state-of-the-art AI tools to enhance your impact.
  • Drive architectural solutions for your team and across all of Webflow engineering. 
  • Provide consistent technical guidance and leadership that directly contributes to multiple teams and the engineering organization's deliverables.
  • Contribute to building and executing on functional strategy.
  • Produce and elevate the quality of maintainable, tested, performant, and scalable code.
  • Author, collaborate on, and evaluate design documents.
  • Influence technical designs and team-level prioritization as well as participate in technical solutions.
  • Motivate and empower teammates to achieve a higher level of performance.
  • Collaborate with product managers and designers in an autonomous, supportive team environment.
  • Mentor junior engineering in technical skills and Webflow culture.
  • Participate in engineering citizenship activities such as co-authoring engineering blogs, strengthening and improving our hiring processes, and leading internal hackathon teams.

About you 

You’ll thrive as a Staff Software Engineer, Optimization Product Platform if you…

  • Have 7+ years of experience with a proven track record of shipping code to build consumer facing web products.
  • Have development experience with Node.js, React, TypeScript and a deep, foundational understanding of Javascript and/or Typescript.
  • Are familiar with optimization platforms like Optimizely and VWO and event tracking tools such as Google Analytics or Mixpanel. 
  • Possess strong understanding of web development best practices and principles, including responsive design, web performance metrics and accessibility standards.
  • Effectively communicate and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
