What will you do?

The Technical Director, Structural is responsible for leading a team for the structural engineering design and analysis of projects from concept through detailed engineering, construction, and commissioning. The role provides technical leadership, ensures compliance with applicable codes and standards, coordinates with multidisciplinary teams, and mentors junior engineers while delivering projects safely, on time, and within budget.

  • Business Development along lines of proactively seeking and securing new clients and projects for team and overall Malaysia business.

  • Structural Team Management.

  • Lead the structural engineering design for industrial, commercial, infrastructure, bridges or building projects.

  • Plan, manage, and review structural analysis, calculations, and design documentation including PE Endorsement of the Structural Design.

  • Ensure compliance with applicable international and local design codes, standards, and client specifications.

  • Coordinate with civil, mechanical, electrical, piping, architectural, and construction teams.

  • Review and approve engineering deliverables prepared by engineers and designers including PE Endorsement.

  • Identify engineering risks and recommend practical, cost-effective solutions.

  • Manage engineering schedules, budgets, and resource allocation.

  • Interface with clients, contractors, vendors, and regulatory authorities.

  • Mentor junior engineers and promote continuous professional development.

  • Ensure compliance with company quality management and health, safety, and environmental (HSE) policies.

What can you bring to the team?

Firstly, you will share our genuine passion for re-imagining engineering and be someone that actively pursues continuous learning to help shape the future. You will also need the following:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or a closely related discipline from a recognized institution.

  • Must be a registered Professional Engineer with Practicing Certificate (PEPC), with authority to review, approve, and certify structural engineering work.

  • Minimum of 20 years of structural engineering experience, including involvement in large-scale, complex, or multidisciplinary projects.

  • Strong experience leading structural engineering design from concept stage through detailed design, construction support, and project completion.

  • Proven leadership and team management experience, including mentoring engineers, reviewing technical work, and guiding team performance.

  • Experience managing and coordinating multidisciplinary engineering teams, including civil, architectural, geotechnical, mechanical, electrical, and construction disciplines.

  • Strong knowledge of structural analysis and design principles, including reinforced concrete, structural steel, foundations, and other structural systems.

  • Good working knowledge of relevant local and international design codes, standards, regulations, and engineering best practices.

  • Knowledge of seismic, wind, blast, vibration, fatigue, and other dynamic analysis requirements where applicable.

  • Excellent project planning, organizational, decision-making, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and priorities at the same time.

  • Significant experience reviewing, approving, and signing off engineering deliverables, including calculations, drawings, reports, specifications, and technical documents.
