Job Summary:
The Product management team is responsible for: overseeing the product life cycle including approving and creating the design specification, promoting the product, ERP and Web maintenance, managing application support, creating sales tools and application guidelines, forecasting production, managing inventory, demand, influencing product definition, managing the product through design, manufacture, quality, product launch promotion, list pricing, discount structures, and is responsible for achieving budgetary and financial targets. training and spare parts, accessories, options
Responsibilities
- Develop, train and mentor applications engineering group. Approve proposals and product quotes as required by policy.
- Continuously update technical data available on product line. Constantly probe into improving the existing product line in terms of application and modification.
- Develop new markets and applications through continuous research in market demands.
- Oversee the creation and distribution of product information.
- Obtain and use marketing data to analyze market demand and market trends to support long term strategic planning and coordinate with manufacturing and the production schedule forecasts.
- Assist all sales functions in the marketing of the product line.
- Be involved in all advertising and promotional campaigns and training of customers/sales representatives, brochures, web, trade shows, cut sheets, advertising and specifications.
- Ascertain from all available data the pricing policies of the applicable product line.
- Provide marketing plan and price guides to achieve sales targets.
- Directly responsible for achievement of the budget and assigned targets such as: inventory, GM, CM, department G&A, warranty concessions, as well as Profit & Loss responsibilities.
- Participation in monthly, midyear and annual budget review and planning process
- Actively participates in the creation of the specification and ROIs for new products.
- Relies on the Voice of Customer along with knowledge of competitors offering and of emerging technologies Coordinates with engineering, manufacturing, supply chain, sales, and other departments.
- Participates in the final design and manufacturing cost decisions.
- Identifies and proposes suppliers for products and accessories.
- Leading, managing, developing, and career pathing, employees within assigned group.
- Provide support and assistance for the field sales department regarding quotations, Special Pricing agreements, concessions, and sales of the department product line.
- Provide monthly rolling forecast of applicable product group for finance, manufacturing, and senior management
Travel:
- 10-40%
Requirements/Qualifications:
- MS Office, ERP, CRM, AutoCAD, use of various electronic instruments such as meters, oscilloscopes etc.
- 4 year degree, preferably technical or engineering related
- 7-12 years
Working Environment
- General office environment, with occasional exposure to electrical and heavy industry hazards
- Work is generally sedentary in nature, but may require frequent sitting, handling and reaching outward. Occasionally may be required to stand, walk, climb and stoop, squat, bend and lift 20lbs or less; may also be required to carry, push or pull up to 20 lbs.
- The working environment is generally favorable. Lighting and temperature are adequate.
- To access the work area, one must occasionally walk through a warehouse or manufacturing setting.
