About the role

Koniag Management Solutions, a Koniag Government Services company, is seeking an on-site SAP S/4HANA Systems Engineer to support our government customer's future SAP supply chain solutions at Fort Lee, VA. This position requires daily on-site work with situational telework.

Key Responsibilities:
System Configuration and Integration:
• Configure and maintain SAP S/4HANA applications and maintenance.
• Manage SAP HANA database operations, including performance tuning and identifying configuration modifications.
• Ensure system monitoring, health checks, and proactive issue resolution.
Landscape Management:
• Configure, integrate, and maintain system landscapes for Development, QA, and Production environments.
• Coordinate system refreshes, client copies, and transport management.
• Support integration between SAP S/4HANA and other systems (e.g., BW/4HANA, SAP Cloud, non-SAP systems).
• Ensure documentation of all integration and interfaces are maintained (Protocols/ Source and Target systems, frequency, and data accuracy).
Security & Compliance:
• Manage user access, roles, and authorizations in coordination with security teams.
• Ensure compliance with IT security and audit standards.
• Implement backup, disaster recovery, and high availability strategies.
Performance & Optimization:
• Analyze and tune SAP application performance (HANA DB, ABAP, Fiori).
• Collaborate with network and infrastructure teams to optimize connectivity and system performance.
Support & Documentation:
• Provide technical support for SAP-related incidents and service requests.
• Maintain detailed documentation of system configurations, architecture, and processes.
• Participate in on-call rotations and after-hours maintenance windows as required.

Required Qualifications:

• Ability to obtain a Public Trust.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).
• 3–7 years of experience in SAP Basis or Systems Engineering roles.
• Hands-on experience with SAP S/4HANA installations, migrations, and upgrades.
• Strong understanding of HANA database administration and Linux environments.
• Experience with SAP Fiori, SAP Solution Manager, and Transport Management System (TMS).
• Familiarity with cloud environments (AWS, Azure, GCP) and SAP Cloud Platform is a plus.

Technical Skills:
• SAP S/4HANA, HANA DB, SUSE Linux/Red Hat, SAP GUI, SAP NetWeaver, Fiori Launchpad.
• System monitoring tools (SAP EarlyWatch, SAP HANA Cockpit, SolMan, or third-party tools).
• Scripting (Shell, Python, or PowerShell) for automation tasks.
• Knowledge of networking, storage, and virtualization technologies.

Soft Skills:
• Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong attention to detail and documentation discipline.
Preferred Certifications:
• SAP Certified Technology Associate – SAP HANA or S/4HANA.
• ITIL Foundation Certification.
• Cloud platform certifications (AWS, Azure, GCP) – optional but advantageous.
