Overview

As the Senior Director, Business Intelligence, you drive the strategic vision, development, and execution of business intelligence and analytics capabilities that empower data-informed decision-making across the organization. You lead a team of analysts and partner cross-functionally to develop dashboards, define key performance metrics, and surface actionable insights that drive operational excellence and business growth.

 

Responsibilities

  • Lead the Business Intelligence function, setting strategy and delivering reporting and analytics capabilities that support company-wide objectives.
  • Design and implement scalable, reliable dashboards and data tools that provide visibility into key metrics and performance trends across departments.
  • Partner with executive and functional leaders to understand business goals and translate them into data models, KPIs, and measurement strategies.
  • Drive a culture of data-driven decision-making through data literacy enablement, intuitive tools, and self-service reporting platforms.
  • Own the integrity, structure, and governance of key business data and reporting systems, working closely with Data Engineering and Systems teams.
  • Evaluate current tools and systems and make recommendations to improve scalability, data integration, and visualization.
  • Manage, develop, and mentor a team of BI analysts to ensure high performance, collaboration, and alignment to business priorities.
  • Deliver high-quality insights that influence planning, forecasting, customer experience, sales performance, and operational efficiency.
  • Lead strategic projects that require complex data modeling, forecasting, and scenario analysis in support of executive decision-making.
  • When necessary, support and collaborate with the Chief Financial Officer, Senior VP of Finance and Director of FP&A for special projects (Refinancings, Acquisitions, Divestitures, and other Strategic Initiatives).
  • Ability to take on additional senior level responsibilities on a temporary basis in Accounting and FP&A due to unforeseen staffing requirements e.g. family leaves, etc.

 

Qualifications 

Minimum Qualifications  

  • 10+ years of progressive experience in business intelligence, analytics, finance, or operations, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
  • Direct Private Equity Experience in a software portfolio company.
  • Proven success leading business intelligence or analytics functions in a high-growth, global SaaS or technology company.
  • Deep expertise in designing and implementing reporting solutions using tools such as Excel, Salesforce, Tableau CRM, Looker.
  • Experience working with data warehouses and ETL processes (e.g., AWS Redshift, Fivetran, Looker ML).
  • Demonstrated ability to translate business problems into structured data questions and deliver clear, compelling insights to senior leadership.
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to balance short-term needs with long-term scalability.
  • Excellent communication skills, with a proven ability to influence stakeholders at all levels and present complex data clearly.

Preferred Qualifications 

  • Bachelor’s or advanced degree in Business, Finance, Data Science, Computer Science, Economics, or a related field.
  • Experience in e-commerce, SaaS, or technology-driven environments.
  • Knowledge of financial and operational metrics specific to SaaS businesses (e.g., ARR, churn, CAC, LTV).
  • Experience collaborating closely with Data Engineering, Finance, and Revenue Operations teams.
