The Software Engineer I is an entry-level role ideal for a recent graduate who has a passion for cloud-based software development and an interest in security. In this role, the Software Engineer will receive hands-on training and mentorship, contribute to real-world security products, and develop skills in a collaborative, mission-focused environment.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Work with experienced engineers and AI code generation tools to design, build, and maintain secure software systems.
  • Learn and implement secure coding practices and contribute to improving the security posture of our products.
  • Participate in sprint planning, code reviews, and testing cycles.
  • Write clean, testable code and help troubleshoot issues as part of the development lifecycle.
  • Stay curious and continue learning about cybersecurity principles and software development best practices.
  • Learn and grow. Learn emerging cloud technologies and industry trends to enhance skills and knowledge.
  • Other duties as assigned and required.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, software engineering, or a related field from a reputed college or university.
  • Exposure to programming languages and frameworks such as Java, Python, JavaScript, or React through school projects or internships.
  • Understanding of basic software development principles, algorithms, and data structures.
  • Interest in or coursework related to cybersecurity, network security, or secure software development.
  • Familiarity with basic security concepts like encryption, authentication, or secure APIs is a strong plus.
  • Good problem-solving, analytical and communication skills and teamwork abilities.
  • Knowledge of software version control system.
Desired Qualifications:
  • Git/GitHub experience
  • Familiarity GitHub Copilot
  • Familiarity with building API first services using either REST or gRPC.
  • Exposure to cloud security or DevSecOps practices
  • Familiarity with security protocols such as SAML, HTTPS, OAuth, TLS, etc

This position offers a salary range of $109,800.00 to $118,800.00 (inclusive of variable compensation such as bonuses and incentives). In addition, more information about Imprivata’s benefit offerings can be found here. This salary range represents the high and low end of Imprivata’s salary range for this position. Actual salaries will vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors, such as a candidate’s location, skills, experience, and qualifications.
