Manufacturing operations in Eatontown focus on the production of Regenerative Medicine, Tissue Engineering, and Demineralized Allografts—meeting rigorous standards for tissue banking, which include protocols for tissue recovery, processing, storage, and distribution.

This position reports to the VP Manufacturing, East Region.

The Manufacturing Director | Site Leader oversees all safety, quality, delivery, productivity, and workforce aspects at the Eatontown, NJ manufacturing site. This role drives innovation, continuous improvement, and alignment of people, strategy, and culture to produce high-quality Medtronic products. Leading a cross-functional team, the position focuses on advancing technologies, implementing cost-saving initiatives, and supporting business continuity. Additionally, the leader leverages the Medtronic Performance System (MPS) to set and achieve Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost (SQDC) targets, improve operations, and collaborate with stakeholders on strategic objectives and capacity planning.

Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned.

  • Leadership & Team Building: Build and lead high-performing teams to advance Medtronic’s mission by producing high-quality products in a safe, efficient, and cost-effective environment.

  • Facilitate Medtronic Principles: Champion “One Best Way” and the “Medtronic Mindset” to standardize and enhance manufacturing processes across operations.

  • Continuous Improvement: Implement lean strategies, conduct GEMBA walks, and utilize value-stream mapping to drive waste reduction, productivity enhancements, and operational excellence.

  • Strategic Operations: Oversee budgets, prioritize goals, and execute comprehensive strategies to ensure success in safety, quality, production, cost management, and workforce development.

  • Workforce Development: Develop and implement training programs to upskill employees, facilitate internal promotions, and ensure backup personnel for critical roles.

  • Collaboration & Innovation: Partner across facilities to establish best practices, resolve technical challenges, and meet quality, demand, and financial objectives.

  • Community Representation: Represent Medtronic in the community and professional organizations at local and regional levels.

Must Have: Minimum Requirements

  • Experienced Sr Manager / Director – with prior site leadership and/or transformation experience required.

  • Bachelor's degree required.

  • Minimum of 10 years of relevant Manufacturing Management and Leadership experience within Medical Device or a Regulated Industry with 7+ years of Managerial experience, or advanced degree with a minimum of 8 years of relevant Manufacturing Management and Leadership experience within Medical Device or a Regulated Industry with 7+ years of Managerial experience.

Nice to Have

  • Degree in Engineering or Technical Sciences.

  • Experience working in an AATB (American Association of Tissue Banks) accredited facility.

  • Medical Device Manufacturing experience within a cleanroom environment.

  • FDA experience with regards to the Human Cells, Tissues, and Cellular and Tissue-Based Products (HCT/Ps) guidelines.

  • Experience with generously donated human tissues.

  • DMAIC Lean / Six Sigma Certification.

  • Demonstrated use of Lean Manufacturing principles to achieve results.

  • Experience across numerous roles/functions within Manufacturing and Supply Chain with demonstrated success in each area.

  • Demonstrated business acumen with understanding of the P&L and balance sheet.
