About the role
Overview
- Tier One Technologies is seeking a General Clerk/Receptionist to support our U.S. Government client.
- This 1-year contract position (with 4-year extension) can be located either in Houston, TX or McAllen, TX.
- SELECTED CANDIDATES WITHOUT REQUIRED CLEARANCE WILL BE SUBJECT TO A FEDERAL GOVERNMENT BACKGROUND INVESTIGATION TO RECEIVE IT.
Responsibilities
- Provide a variety of receptionist and clerical support duties for litigation staff, which involve utilization of work processing software and filing.
- Receive telephone calls and visitors to the office.
- Respond to inquiries via phone, email, letters, and fax, evaluate information received and determine appropriate information to be provided, or to whom the inquiry should be referred.
- Control access to the office and insure only visitors properly cleared are authorized entry.
- Notify staff members of visitors or incoming telephone calls. Maintain telephone switchboard equipment.
- Enforce pertinent administrative rules and regulations governing facility access including monitoring via close circuit television the movement of individuals in and around the office. Monitor cameras for debriefings.
- Coordinate and prepare travel itineraries for case witnesses or litigation staff, as well as other duties as may be assigned to facilitate the efficiency of the program area.
- Open/close cases in Caseview, print and assemble new case files, if needed.
- Provide litigation support by working with Duty AUSA’s and Legal Assistants on the coordination and notification of the new arrest notices.
- Communicate court docket changes to legal staff and check daily court calendars for additions/deletions.
- File incoming files appeal to corresponding criminal files.
- Monitor binders for keys, Wex Card, receipts, completion of mileage log sheets.
- Assist with inventory to include submission of excess property.
- Perform yearly Records Inventory of all active/inactive civil and criminal case files and materials for the office.
- Produce a variety of written documents utilizing word processing software, working from handwritten draft, edited copy, or electronic files created by another staff member.
- Work under the direction of the Office Manager.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED is required.
- 2+ years of Administrative Assistant’s experience.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook.
- Proven ability to use computers efficiently to create a wide range of documents, spreadsheets, and databases.
- Strong customer service, interpersonal, and organizational skills, with excellent command of the English language.
- Must be able to obtain a Position of Public Trust Clearance.
- Be able to pass a drug screening, criminal history, and credit checks.
- Must be a US Citizen or Green Card holder.
- Must have lived in the United States for the past 5 years.
- Cannot have more than 6 months travel outside the United States within the last five years. Military Service excluded. (Exception does not include military family members.)
