- Position Summary
- (Classified as: Administrative Analyst/Specialist, Exempt I)
Full-time temporary position available on or after August 4, 2025 and ending on or before August 3, 2026 for the Child Development Center. Appointment will be made for one year from date of hire with the possibility of reappointment based on budget, department needs, and job performance.
This position is on the 10/12 Pay Plan with the pay periods of June and July off work each year. Benefits and salary are paid over 12 months.
- Job Duties
- Duties include but are not limited to:
- Recruit student parents, explain program requirements, and maintain a waiting list for CCAMPIS enrollment.
- Schedule and organize weekly meetings, prepare agendas and record meeting minutes.
- Develop and facilitate workshops, resource events, and parenting meetings.
- Schedule classroom observations and ensure timely completion of program tasks.
- Collaborate with campus and community services to connect student parents with academic, social, and childcare resources.
- Identify gaps in available resources and propose new initiatives to support student success.
- Coordinate and oversee data collection, including child assessments, parent surveys, and interviews.
- Prepare and summarize data for annual reports.
- Maintain and update budget spreadsheets related to program expenses.
- Assist in maintaining accreditation with the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC) by implementing practices that meet family and child support standards.
- Monitor policy, procedure, and program compliance with accreditation standards.
- Update the accreditation portal and document related program changes.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Minimum Qualifications
- Education/Experience: Entry to this classification requires general knowledge and skills in the applicable administrative and/or program field with a foundational knowledge of public administration principles, practices, and methods. This foundation would normally be obtained through a bachelor's degree and/or equivalent training and administrative work experience involving study, analysis, and/or evaluation leading to the development or improvement of administrative policies, procedures, practices, or programs.
- Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Child Development or closely related field (e.g., early childhood education, human development, home economics/family and consumer studies, educational psychology, liberal studies).
- Experience with NAEYC accreditation processes.
- Experience developing workshops or resource events.
- Administrative experience in an early childhood education program or child development center.
- Teaching experience in an early childhood education program or child development center with preschoolers, toddlers, or infants.
- Experience managing, analyzing, or evaluating federal grant programs.
- Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
- General knowledge and skills in the applicable administrative and/or program field and a foundational knowledge of public administration principles, practices, and methods.
- Knowledge of and ability to apply fundamental concepts.
- Ability to analyze data and make accurate projections using business mathematics and basic statistical techniques.
- Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships within and outside the work group and serve as a liaison for the organizational unit.
- Working knowledge of and ability to apply standard theories, principles, practices, and techniques applicable to the program and/or administrative specialty to develop conclusions and make recommendations.
- Thorough knowledge of policies, procedures, and outside regulations pertaining to the applicable program and/or administrative specialty.
- Working knowledge of operational and fiscal analysis and techniques. Working knowledge of budget policies and procedures.
- Ability to take initiative and independently plan, organize, coordinate, and perform work in various situations where numerous and diverse demands are involved.
- Skill in the research, development and evaluation of policies and programs, including skill in the collection, evaluation, and interpretation of data to develop sound conclusions and make appropriate recommendations.
- Expertise in investigating and analyzing problems with a broad administrative impact and implications. Ability to make independent decisions and exercise sound judgment.<
