About the role

Position Summary

MAG Aerospace is seeking a professional Futures Systems Engineer who will be responsible for designing, developing, and implementing complex cyber systems within the product Manger Information Warfare Cyber Infrastructure (PdM IWCI) Futures portfolio.

 

This is an opportunity to be involved in the newly formed PM Cyber & Space and be a part of the rapidly growing Cyber Infrastructure Product Office responsible for key capabilities within the offensive cyber operations world. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Focus on technical infrastructure, data analysis, development security practices, cloud engineering strategies, and ensuring the stability and efficiency of the platform, often utilizing advanced programming languages and quantitative analysis techniques to system performance.
  • Collaborate with component teams, requirements owners, DoD component teams, and developmental contractors; the collaboration includes operational requirements translation into software requirements, designs, implementations, developmental planning artifacts. All efforts apply to onto a variety of execution platforms including cloud, multi-cloud, system of systems, commercial/government software applications.
  • Must design, implement, document, and manage the above-mentioned systems in respect to training, testing, automation, troubleshooting, DevSecOps, and CI/CD.
  • Collaborate with the defense industrial complex science and technology partners.
  • Reviews and assesses developmental contractor software code to ensure compliance with government-provided coding and cybersecurity standards.
  • Participates in government oversight of contractor software development activities, to include as a supporting team member in agile development paradigm activities (e.g., scrums, sprint retrospectives), developing software acceptance criteria, and generating recommendations to the government Assistant Product Manager; all require development, development planning, development/test automation tools, requirements prioritization, test, evaluation, cross-system integration, and fielding/delivery, and post-delivery support of software-based systems.

Requirements

Minimum Requirements

 

Knowledge and Skills 

  • Experience with Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban, Scaled Agile Framework).
  • Experience with Cloud Solution Management (e.g. AWS, Azure, Google, Terraform).
  • Experience with DevOps processes and tools (e.g., Jira, Confluence, Git).
  • Experience with continuous integration and continuous delivery.
  • Experience with Unix-based (e.g. RedHat, Ubuntu, etc.) and Windows Operating Systems
  • Familiarity with Application Programming Interfaces.
  • Experience with Ansible Playbooks.
  • Experience with Zero-Trust Architecture and Secure Coding Practices.
  • Experience with Python and/or Java development.
  • Familiarity with DoD 5000 acquisition lifecycle processes.
  • Excellent communications skills including the ability to generate and deliver focused briefings on complex topics to senior leaders.
  • Ability to work on, and/or lead, multi-functional/multi-disciplinary teams.

 

Clearance

  • Active TS/SCI Clearance.

Experience

  • 10 years of direct experience with software development.
  • 3 years in cyber or C4ISR systems.

 

Education 

  • BS and/or graduate degree(s) in Engineering or Information Technology.

 

Preferred Requirements 

  • Master’s Degree in an Engineering or Information Technology discipline.
  • Four (4) additional years and bachelor’s degree in lieu of a master’s degree or 8 additional years if no degree.

Other Qualifications

  • Ability to travel 25%
  • Ability to work in office/field/lab environments
