The Team
The Office of the Executive Director Operations leads strategic and operational oversight across Ambulance Tasmania, ensuring high-quality, safe, and accessible pre-hospital care for all Tasmanians. The team plays a pivotal role in coordinating statewide health service delivery, performance monitoring, and continuous improvement across our health system.
This role is located at Ambulance Tasmania State Headquarters in Cambridge.
The Role:
The Executive Support Officer provides high-level executive support to the Executive Director of Operations. Key responsibilities include managing the day-to-day administration of the Executive Director of Operations' office, coordinating complex documentation such as Department Minutes, Ministerial Briefs, and Question Time Briefs, and maintaining efficient communication systems to ensure timely flow of information across Ambulance Tasmania Operation Units, the Department of Health, and other key stakeholders.
The Executive Support Officer will be responsible for coordinating meetings, conferences, providing secretariat support to governance committees, managing confidential records and correspondence, and delivering accurate and timely administrative research and reporting as needed.
This role demands a high degree of professionalism, initiative, attention to detail, and the ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced, sensitive environment.
You will need:
- Demonstrated ability to provide high level administrative and exercise initiative, judgement and discretion within a senior management environment particularly in regards to confidentiality and political and sensitive matters.
- Demonstrated knowledge, experience and skills in financial and budget management, including the effective use of financial systems and relevant technology.
- Skills and experience in project management and research support services, with the ability to interpret and analyse information.

Details of appointment:
Permanent full time, day worker position, working 76 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as possible.
*notwithstanding hours to be negotiated with the successful applicant.
Applicants should note that, for a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar full time, part time, and casual vacancies.
Salary: $81,915 to $94,263 per annum. Our Employer 12% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.
- Salary range is in accordance with Public Sector Unions Wages Agreement 2022
