Position Summary

The APRN is responsible for the treatment of patients in the outpatient, community-based setting within the scope practice permitted under Florida law on the College of Nursing Clinics. The APRN is a member of the healthcare team through direct medical care, consultation, collaboration, coordination, and referral. Practices to his/her maximum potential in accordance with State and Federal laws. Functions primarily as a clinician but also has consultative and educational responsibilities; works collaboratively with specialty referrals and area healthcare delivery systems to support a patient-centered medical home model. Position may be required to float to other brick-and-mortar clinical facilities within the Tampa Bay region performing the same responsibilities. Required valid and unencumbered State of Florida RN license and certification as a Family Nurse Practitioner.

Manages common acute and chronic healthcare problems on the College of Nursing Clinics. Member of the health care team through direct medical care, consultation, collaboration, coordination, and referral. Practices to his/her maximum potential in accordance with State and Federal laws. Functions primarily as a clinician but also has consultative and educational responsibilities; works collaboratively with specialty referrals and area healthcare delivery systems to support a patient-centered medical home model. May be required to float to other brick-and mortar clinical facilities within the Tampa Bay region performing the same responsibilities.

Clinical: Provide healthcare through health promotion, illness, prevention and health restoration; responsibilities include: History and Physical Medical and/or nursing diagnosis Direct Diagnostic evaluations including the order and review of appropriate radiographic and laboratory tests; provide consultation. Formulating patient treatment plans and including prescribing medications and follow-up as well as social determinants of health.

Consultation provide consultation to patients, their families, care team members, physicians or other health care providers on health maintenance visits, educational programs, individual referrals, peer and nursing staff resources.

Attend and complete appropriate continuing education sessions to maintain State licensure as an APRN.

Teach patients and families community health promotion and illness prevention strategies.

Actively participates in daily huddles with care team members. Mentors and serves as a preceptor to undergraduate nursing and APRN students.

May be required to float to other clinical locations throughout the Tampa Bay region with the same responsibilities.

Minimum Qualifications:

This position requires graduation from an accredited Advanced Practice Registered Nurse academic degree

program and certification as outlined in Florida Statutes 464 and Florida Administrative Code, Chapter 64.

Master's degree from an accredited institution

Require having and maintaining a valid and unencumbered State of Florida Register Nurse (RN) licensure.

Certified as Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP)

Minimum of three (3) years' experience as an APRN of family practice outpatient experience including the entire lifespan (adults, older adults, pediatrics, women's health, OB)

Current BLS certification, required valid and unencumbered State of Florida Autonomous Practice Florida BON qualification or able to obtain prior to employment start date, and Department of Transportation (DOT) certification.

Valid Florida driver's license with clean driving record

Competence with simple suturing and splinting techniques

Some experience working with underserved communities.
