Job Summary:

The Lift Maintenance Manager is responsible for the overall maintenance program for all ski lifts, including fixed and detachable chairlifts, tows, conveyors and their related systems.  This position will also perform work including maintaining and/or repairing fixed and detachable chairlifts, tows, conveyors and their related systems.

Giants Ridge is seeking an experienced Lift Maintenance Manager to join our team.  In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing the operation and maintenance of our lifts, including detachable chairlifts, conveyors and other lift systems.  You will lead a skilled team of lift maintenance mechanics to make sure the lifts are functioning safely, efficiently and reliably to provide an exceptional experience for our guests.  This is a full-time, year-round position that includes a competitive benefit package. 

Starting Salary: $62,400.00 - $70,720.00 and is commensurate with experience.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Develops and implements preventative maintenance and quality assurance programs to meet or exceed all ANSI-B77, manufacturer, insurance and company requirements.
  • Directs and supervises others in the maintenance, troubleshooting and repair of ski lift mechanical, electrical, hydraulic and other related systems. 
  • Procures parts, tools and resources to complete work in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Develops and maintains thorough, accurate and up-to-date records of all performed work, to include inspections, repairs and preventive maintenance tasks using the Fiix Maintenance Management software. 
  • Provides troubleshooting knowledge to facilitate the safe operation of all lifts and their related systems. 
  • Assists Mountain Manager in hiring, scheduling, and reviewing lift maintenance staff.
  • Performs regular periodical checks and inspections of lift equipment. 
  • Responds to, and works to determine causes of lift operational problems.
  • Operates various types of equipment as necessary for job duties. 
  • Operates off road vehicles in all types of terrain including steep and variable. 
  • Participates in training lift operators and lift maintenance personnel.
  • Performs a wide range of duties at heights frequently in excess of 20 feet. 
  • Performs other duties as assigned by Mountain Manager and/or Directors. 
  • Engages with guests in a positive and professional manner.

SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE REQUIREMENTS

  • At least 5 years of lift maintenance or related experience in maintaining, troubleshooting and repairing similar equipment. 
  • At least 3 years of supervisory experience preferred but not required. 
  • An in-depth knowledge of the ski industry and lift maintenance best practices and standards including ANSI B77.1-2017 or the ability to acquire such knowledge. 
  • Knowledge of low voltage control systems, PLCs, HMIs and other complex mechanical/electrical interfaces.
  • Ability to understand and interpret electrical and hydraulic schematics to troubleshoot, identify and correct problems.
